APPAREL CHAIR AND CO-CHAIR
Designs (can use previous designs) and orders merchandise for PTO, then manages and distributes items purchased. This position is a year long position but can be done from home or work most of the year. In-person time is needed most heavily at the beginning of the year during open house, Fall Festival (day of), Spring Carnival (day of).

CAFETERIA CREATIVITY CHAIR
Bring creative minds to help Ms. Karen dress cafeteria area bulletin boards for related cafeteria and seasonal themes. This position can be completed on your own schedule and with working with Ms. Karen on an as-needed basis.

CAR RIDER VOLUNTEERS CHAIR
The Car Rider Chair is in charge of coordinating 6 volunteers per school day to open car doors, greet children and make sure each child makes it into the building safely. The Chair is responsible for finding enough volunteers committed to one day a week for the school year from 7:20-8:05. This is a total of 30 volunteers. The Chair is then the POC for finding subs throughout the year for those who need to miss.

COMMUNICATIONS CHAIR
The Communications Chair is responsible for managing and maintaining the PTO’s digital communication channels, with a primary focus on the PTO website. This role ensures that parents, staff, and the community stay informed and engaged.

DANCE CHAIR AND CO-CHAIR
Lindsey Gatling, Lindsey Gregory
Responsible for organizing the annual Spring Dance from start to finish. Chairs handle planning, aligning to budget, and raising any additional funds through sponsorships, while working closely with the PTO board for approvals. They hire vendors according to school guidelines, plan the theme, send invitations, manage ticket sales, and oversee event-related social media. Leading up to the dance, the committee ensures all vendors and supplies are secured. On the day of the event, they organize setup and cleanup, coordinating volunteers to help with decorations, activities, and tidying up afterward. While the Spring Dance is a once-a-year event, it requires a dedicated time commitment to make sure everything runs smoothly and the event is a memorable success for the school community.

FAMILY FOCUS CHAIR AND CO-CHAIR

You’ll help plan, organize, and coordinate some of our most special occasions—from the Fall Festival to the Spring Carnival and more.
You’ll assist with everything from brainstorming ideas to preparing for events and connecting with vendors. Each year is a little different depending on what you bring to the table, so there’s room for creativity and fresh ideas!
This is a year-long role that can be shared with a team. Whether you prefer to focus on just one event or collaborate on them all, there’s a place for you. While it can be a bit of a time commitment, it’s a great way to have fun, get involved, and make a big impact on our school community.

FUN RUN CHAIR
Plans, manages, orders prizes/tshirts, collects donations, and hosts the Fun Run. This is one of our larger fundraisers each year. It has several positions needed on the Committee, each member has a special area of focus which can often be donel from home or work. Week of Fun Run is a very heavy week and very time intensive. Energy and smiles are needed for in classroom visits and visibility around the school. Some Committee memebers will work on this throughout the year heavier than others while funds and prizes continue to come in but heaviest need is in the fall.

GIVE BACK CHAIR
The PTO Giveback Chair coordinates programs and events where a portion of sales from local businesses is donated back to the school. This role involves building partnerships with restaurants, retailers, and service providers, scheduling giveback nights, promoting events through school communication channels, and ensuring accurate donation tracking. The Chair works closely with the PTO board to align fundraising efforts with school needs and helps foster strong community relationships that benefit both students and local businesses.

GRANTS CHAIR
Research and Process available grants that our school may be eligible for to subsidize PTO revenue. This position can be done completely from home or work on your time as you are able to research, prepare, and request.

GROUNDS CHAIR AND CO-CHAIR
Help Us Keep Rock Springs Elementary Beautiful! We’re the team behind keeping the outside of our school looking its best all year long. From pulling weeds and spreading mulch to planting flowers and making sure our playground stays safe and inviting, we take pride in making Rock Springs a welcoming place for students, staff, and families. Our big projects include:🍂 Fall Cleanup, 🌸 Spring Cleanup, 🏃♂️ Playground upkeep. You don’t need a green thumb—just a heart for helping and a willingness to lend a hand. Whether you can help during clean up days, donate supplies, or share ideas, we’d love to have you on board!

HOSPITALITY CHAIR AND CO-CHAIR
Help show our awesome staff how much we love and appreciate them by assisting with teacher luncheons and special occasions in their honor. This is a year long position but is in high demand during special events such as holidays and special occasions like Teacher Appreciation Week.

MEMBERSHIP CHAIR
Manage and facilitate the promotion of PTO membership at Rock Springs. This position is heavy leading up to the start of the school year and in the first month of the school year. Can be done mostly from home or work.

MENTORS CHAIR
The Mentor program pairs students and community volunteers together to provide friendship and support at school. This is covered by a very generous volunteer and our own Mrs. Coffee.

ROOM REP CHAIR AND CO-CHAIR
The Room Rep Chair is the main point of contact and organizer for all classroom representatives throughout the year. At the start of the school year, the Room Rep Chair hosts a kickoff meeting, sharing everything new and returning room reps need to know—guidelines, expectations, and all the little details that keep things running smoothly. They provide an annual room rep calendar for all class activities. Throughout the year, the Room Rep Chair handles communication with all room reps, answering questions and making sure everyone’s on the same page. They handle coordinating creative banner-making days for the Fun Run. They also put together a monthly communication email, filled with important updates and reminders, which is then sent out by each room rep to their class. Basically, if room reps have a question, need direction, or just want to know what’s next, the Room Rep Chair is their go-to.

SANTA SHOP CHAIR AND CO-CHAIR
Bring the Magic of Giving to Our Students!
Help us create a fun and meaningful shopping experience where students can buy affordable gifts for their loved ones during the holiday season. Committee members help source and select quality, budget-friendly items, collect wrapping supplies, and assist students as they shop, budget, and wrap gifts to take home. Time Commitment: Year-round: Light planning and shopping that can mostly be done from home or in the community. December: This is our busiest time, especially the week before and during Holiday Shop Week. Expect to be at the school for longer hours during this time. Volunteers: . Additional committee members are welcome, and Sign-Up Genius will be used to organize daily volunteers for the week of Santa shop. Grandparents and Parents welcome to come help kids shop, wrap and be apart of their shopping experience. This is one of our most heartwarming fundraisers—kids love it, and so do we!

SPIRIT ROCK SIGN-UP CHAIR
Sets up the sign-up for the spirit rock to start the school year and monitors throughout the year
